My research interests are in the fields of 1) gap (electrotonic) junctions, their biophysics, morphology, molecular structure, and roles in intercellular communication and electrical transmission; this work represents a continuation and expansion of previous work on electrical transmission between neurons; 2) chemically mediated synaptic transmission, particularly as mediated by excitatory amino acids. |
