Seidman helped establish all of what we know today about the genetic and molecular bases of inherited cardiomyopathies. Her discoveries allow improved diagnosis and risk stratification, and create the opportunity for early intervention and rational therapy for a disease causing sudden death in otherwise healthy individuals. |
