Huang is a scientific creator and pioneer of two transformative technologies?stretchable electronics and buckling-controlled, deterministic 3D assembly. His work provided their scientific foundation, led to important applications in bio-integrated/bio-inspired electronics, medicine and 3D fabrication, and profoundly impacted engineering science. Additionally, he made key contributions to microscale plasticity.
 Research Interests
Yonggang Huang is interested in mechanics of materials and structures. He has established the scientific foundations for stretchable electronics and for mechanics-guided deterministic 3D assembly, and has made important contributions to their applications to bio-integrated and bio-inspired electronics, and 3D fabrication. He is also one of the key contributors to the microscale plasticity theory.
