Election Citation
Anderson has contributed to revitalizing the field of population genetics by incorporating into its models population density and other ecological variables. He has demonstrated forms of selection in nature that were previously known only in the laboratory and has developed statistical methodologies for analyzing natural selection.

Research Interests
My research interests include: molecular evolution and selection dynamics of an X-chromosome under meiotic drive; molecular evolution and evolutionary cytogenetics of North American species related to Drosophila pseudoobscura; measurements of selection components in natural and experimental populations of Drosophila; relative roles of females and males in mate choice of Drosophila; and the role of scientists in scientific literacy and science education.
