Skyrms's research has focused on how Bayesian updating, social dynamics, and evolution can clarify many traditional social and philosophical issues including subjective conditionals, evolution of expected utility and equilibrium concepts in game theory, ultimatum bargaining, altruistic behavior, symmetry breaking in the formation of convention, and the evolution of signaling systems.
 Research Interests
Evolutionary game theory, broadly conceived, applied to social norms and social contracts.
